Despite what you may have been told. I did NOT know on sailing from Portsmouth that we would be away until March!. As I have 3 small children myself I know only too well how disappointed all of you must be that we will not be home for Christmas - but we will certainly be thinking of you as we know you will be thinking of us.

Visits To Bermuda 20-25th Sep, 16-26th Nov

Lieutenant AC GORDON LENNOX, RN.
Bermuda is an island we have visited twice during the deployment. It was our first stop in the West Atlantic area on the way out in September and now we have returned for a second time. The island itself is very attractive, long and thin it runs from the Airport and the town of St Georges in the East through the capital of Hamilton in the centre to the Old Dockyard called Ireland Island in the west.

Visit to Freeport 27th Sep - 2nd Oct

Lieutenant R WARNE, RN.
HMS TARTAR visited Freeport from 27 September until 2 October. Freeport was built from scratch a few years ago by an influential businessman, Wallace Groves. Despite rapid growth in the Sixties, Freeport is now declining and appears to have outgrown itself, and despite the strong American influence and financial backing.
